Koryak Regional Museum of Local Lore ((688000, Kamchatka Territory, Koryak district, Palana village, Porotova str. 16 ) The museum was founded in 1932 as a national museum. Since 1969, it has been called a local history museum. It is one of the main cultural and educational centers of the Koryak district. It has archaeological and ethnographic collections, collections of works of fine and applied art, photographs and documentary materials on the history of the Koryaks, Itelmen, Evens, Chukchi. In total, the museum has more than 16,000 items. The museum conducts extensive research and educational work.
Itelmen's headbands are examples of their unique decorative and applied art, demonstrate women's domestic artistic creativity, the works of which are stored in many art and ethnographic museums, including the collections of the MAE of St. Petersburg.
The Elvel Ensemble is the most famous Itelmen folklore dance ensemble in Kamchatka and beyond. It was organized in the early 1970s.
